Heading down the trail with my grade seven eight students after spending an hour at the windy summit. All told the return trip was 6 hours. A good long hike that demonstrated some outstanding resilience by many students. Mount Jacques-Cartier (French: Mont Jacques-Cartier) is the tallest mountain in the Chic-Choc Mountains range in eastern Quebec, Canada. At 1,268 m (4,160 ft), it is also the highest mountain in the Canadian Appalachians.
I have been working in the outdoors and teaching students and adults in a variety of academic settings from grades 1-6 elementary age students in Forest School, to Junior High students, to high school students in Outdoor Ed high school curriculum courses, to delivering skills based courses at the College Level for Outdoor Adventure diploma programs. I have also taught Nordic skiing, Telemark Skiing (those funny skiiers at alpine ski hills who bend their knees and lift their heels while skiing) and classic Downhill Skiing as a certified instructor in all three disciplines. I have also taught Whitewater Kayaking, Raft Guiding, Sea kayaking, and Whitewater Canoeing as well as been a professional guide in all the paddlesports disciplines
